Please see below Update on the Postponed 9th Annual Molson Coors Scottish Entertainment & Hospitality Awards due to take place Sunday 13th September 2020

In March, with the initial effects of Covid 19 spreading rapidly, we felt obliged to postpone this year’s Molson Coors Scottish Entertainment & Hospitality Awards for everyone’s safety.

Back then, we were delighted to announce our finalists for 2020 as voted for by your customers and the wider public. Who could have imagined that we would then see the world close down, with all live gatherings cancelled. Six months on, the limit is still set at a maximum of 30 people with little prospect of any return to normality this year. We have watched as the pandemic has decimated the hospitality industry throughout Scotland and feel that now is not the right time to reward any specific individual business within each category. Therefore for this year simply the recognition as a finalist will stand. We realise everyone is working hard to survive lockdown and to concentrate on rebuilding their businesses in the coming months.

We need to stand together and acknowledge that we are all part of this amazing industry and having recently met with our partners and sponsors to review the current landscape, we have regrettably come to the decision of cancelling this year’s gala final which had been previously rescheduled for 13th September. We sincerely hope the situation will improve so that in the near future we will be in a position to return to the old normal. With that thought in mind, registration for the 10th Annual Molson Coors Scottish Entertainment & Hospitality Awards to take place in 2021 is now open. You can register by visiting www.entertainmentawards.co.uk

Wishing all of our Finalists for 2020 and the wider Hospitality Industry the very best over the coming months. We face a monumental challenge to rebuild our businesses over the next few months and by working together we will succeed”

Warren Paul, CEO Molson Coors Scottish Entertainment & Hospitality Awards

“The Scottish Hospitality industry is filled with resilient operators, owning and operating an incredibly diverse range of venues. Whilst we are obviously disappointed by the cancellation of this year’s final at Merchant Square, we hope you’ll agree it is not the time to celebrate. We are encouraged by the sense of community within the trade as we adjust to a new normal, but we also recognise the unprecedented pressure our industry is experiencing. I want to thank you for engaging with this year’s nominations and offer my congratulations to the finalists – we are already excited to celebrate together with you in 2021. We hope you, and your teams, are able to keep safe and well through the balance of 2020. If I or any of my team can be of any help, please do not hesitate to get in touch.”
